Butternut Creek Footbridge
Project Details
Project Story
The existing logs that formed this footbridge were determined to be structurally inadequate and within a year the footbridge would be closed. MCE designed a new structural steel footbridge which provided for a longer span and lower maintenance cost. The area is a sensitive wetland; therefore it was decided that the footbridge should sit on four concrete piers. This design allowed for the estimated construction costs to be approximately half of the budget set aside by the school district for the project.
