MCE provided structural design for the replacement of seven segments of the 1.9 mile pedestrian boardwalk bridge through the Mt. Hood National Forest at Trillium Lake. A multi-agency collaborative effort, this Great American Outdoors Act project addressed deferred maintenance issues to the pedestrian boardwalk trail within the park. The new bridge design provides safe accessibility to all users, granting access over the vegetation and through the marshy wetlands of the lake and forest environment. The wood framed pedestrian walkway trail was constructed wider than previous boardwalks for improved accessibility. And includes multiple viewing platforms along the walkway, offering views of Mt. Hood while also accommodating wheelchairs and other mobility devices.
