Currently Hiring:
Associate Structural Engineer I (3+ years experience and license)
As an Associate Structural Engineer I you will:
- Perform calculations, develop loading requirements, & create accurate & concise drawings
- Communicate effectively & professionally with senior engineers & clients regarding status of new & ongoing projects
- Pay attention to client expectations & scope adjustments, work closely with senior engineers
- Perform research & conduct field investigations
Qualifications/Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
- PE license & 3+ years of experience is required
- Preferred to have personal vehicle & the minimum required Oregon insurance for site visits
- Ability to generate creative solutions within existing limitations
- Balances team and individual responsibilities
- Contributes to positive team spirit

Michelle Sharp, PE
MCE has promoted Michelle Sharp, PE to Associate Engineer. Sharp has been with MCE for five years after receiving her degree in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Her experience includes seismic evaluations, remodels of both residential and commercial structures, cladding design, and equipment loading.
Jordan Toews, PE
MCE has promoted Jordan Toews, PE to Associate Engineer. Towes has been with MCE for four years after receiving his degree in Civil Engineering from University of Portland. Prior to completing his education, Towes was a residential contractor for ten years on projects ranging from ground-up construction of ICF and conventional homes to interior remodels and repairs. His experience with MCE includes ASCE 41 analyses, vertical load analysis, and equipment loading.
David Hamilton
David Hamilton has joined MCE as a structural designer. He graduated from Portland State University with a degree in Civil Engineering. While David was a student, he worked as an intern with Ash Grove Cement working on concrete mix designs. Throughout his education he studied reinforced concrete design, short-span bridge design, steel design, reinforced concrete, structure design, geotechnical design, and bike and pedestrian safety design.
