MCE provided structural engineering services for this multifamily residential project. The project consisted of three different two-story buildings and a clubhouse for a combined 26,000 square foot structure. Wood was used as the primary building material for the 25-unit complex with light wood-framed shear walls to resist the lateral load. MCE design services included schematic design, final design and construction administration, which included site visits during construction. The site is located in Zone 3 with a required 90 mph, exposure B wind loading.
Situated on two, two-acre sites, this apartment complex consists of five different unit types in six buildings and individual parking garages. As the structural engineer of record for this 76-unit apartment complex, MCE provided structural design including construction administration and construction services to ensure general conformance to the design documents. Snow drift was a design concern based on the high snow loading at the site along with the elevation changes of the roof layout.
