This project was to design the vertical and lateral resisting elements for the proposed structure to house the generator for back-up power for the Washington County 911 Call Center. The generator house was built using Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) and designed to withstand heavy snow and wind loads. The generator house was designed to an immediate occupancy force level to ensure that it is functional after a catastrophe.
MCE provided vertical and lateral analysis for this new, eco-friendly modular cottage in which the wall panel layout conforms to requirements set forth in prescriptive lateral design. The roof consists of typical A-frame construction and the foundation is concrete blocks that weigh approximately 4,320 pounds each, around the perimeter of the structure. The bottoms of the blocks are 2 feet below grade with a space left between to give access to the crawl space.
