The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center, Salem, Oregon

 

The Salvation Army Kroc Community Center in Salem, Oregon, is a new, 91,597 gross square-foot, single-story commercial community center using a combination of masonry (CMU) and light gage shear walls, open web steel joists and metal roof, glulam beams and wood decking and a cast-in-place concrete foundation. As the Structural Engineer of Record, MCE provided preliminary design consultation, design work and construction services.

Project Highlights:

  • MCE worked with the architect, contractor and other engineers to develop an economical and constructible building from design development and construction documents. 
  • MCE answered questions and provided construction services to the architect, contractor and other engineers throughout the construction process.
