Hillshire Subdivision Retaining Wall, Camas, Washington

The Hillshire Subdivision project entailed designing the retaining walls for a 51 lot subdivision located in Camas, Washington. There were a total of six retaining walls on the project. Four were constructed of gravity boulder walls and two were mechanically stabilized earth “Lock and Load” walls. (The maximum wall height was 12’-0”.) Walls were analyzed for stability for both soil loading and seismic loading. Construction services and structural observation also was performed periodically during wall construction.
